Edition 11 is officially welcomed to EMMIR during Opening Ceremony event




On 27 September, Edition 11 was officially welcomed to the EMMIR family at the annual opening ceremony event.


The evening event consisted of welcome speeches from Dr. Lydia Potts, EMMIR Primary Coordinator, as well as the sharing of greetings from alumni of the programme and opportunities for the incoming student to get to know the broader EMMIR network.



A keynote speech on the topic of "Critical Commentary on the World Development Report 2023: Migrants, Refugees, Societies" was additionally delivered by Prof. Dr. Paula Banerjee, IDRC Endowed Chair, Center on Gender and Forced Displacement, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand, and Roula El-Rifai, Senior Program Specialist, International Development Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada.
