Histories, realities, and future perspectives of migration in Asia

Migration has shaped Asia’s past and continues to define its present and future. From historical trade routes and colonial legacies to contemporary geopolitical conflicts, labour mobility, and climate-induced displacement, the Asian continent is a dynamic space of migration flows. The Migrant Asia Conference (April 23-25, 2025) brings together scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore the ways in which migration has shaped societies, economies, and identities across the region.

The conference will highlight critical research on war, geopolitics, urbanization, gendered migration, climate displacement, and more.
