Yordanos's story:

Mr. Yordanos S. Estifanos is a graduated with MA in European Masters in Migration and Intercultural Relations (EMMIR) at the University of Oldenburg, Germany. He was a research fellow at the Bielefeld Graduate School in History and Sociology (BGHS) in Germany researching on Transnational Migration. Mr. Estifanos is currently working as a researcher on “Migration Industries in Transnational Migration Project” coordinated by Sussex University. Mr. Estifanos has previously worked for national & international organisations and has published monographs and research articles. Mr. Estifanos joined EMMIR in 2013 and spent two enriching years researching and learning, in class and outside, from students who came from across the world. Through EMMIR’s mobility path he also traveled across the world, amassing knowledge and wisdom in the process. Borrowing scientific knowledge from his studies, and art from the mobility path and his other life encounters, Mr. Estifanos wrote a book (Wayfarers) that combines ethnographic research and travel memoires. Because scientific knowledge is contextualised and presented in simple yet vivid language, partly an attribute of EMMIR’s pedagogy, the book has got wider acceptance amongst regular readers and policy-makers, contributing toward making academia more active.
